Rachel Perrella

Rachel’s yoga journey began several years ago with classes at The Yoga Loft. She was inspired by the physical, meditative and spiritual nature of the practice, and discovered that yoga added a new dimension to her life. Rachel is a second grade teacher at Tower School in Marblehead, and is also the Mindfulness Coordinator for the school. She regularly practices mindfulness and yoga with her students and the faculty. Yoga has allowed her to deepen her practice and bring it to her students and colleagues.

She has always been active; she played competitive sports in high school and college, studied dance, and has continued to enjoy a variety of activities. Rachel is a recent graduate of the 200 hour teacher training at The Yoga Loft. She also completed a five day workshop with Shiva Rea and Dmitri Velarius at Kripalu.

Yoga has become an integral part of her life and helped her to develop a practice of moving meditation. She believes that a yoga practice should create a feeling for the practitioner through breath and movement. She embraces the physicality of the practice, but she recognizes that the meditative and reflective elements are equally as important.

Class with Rachel:

Rachel’s  classes emphasize alignment, flow and breath, and she encourages her students to be safe and aware of their bodies on their mat. She believes in the power of a smile and a positive attitude. She hopes to share her passion for the practice with her students.
