Why/When/Where did you start practicing yoga?

I started practicing yoga in September 2018 while adapting to a new schedule. After reading about yoga over the years, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and try it. A good friend who had practiced for years, thought I might find it to be a challenge.

How has yoga changed/influenced your life?

It has changed the way I take care of myself. It has helped me slow down, appreciate the benefits of conscious breathing, and get out of the mind to be more present in the body. It has also reminded me that staying active and limber can facilitate so many parts of daily functional life, especially when corralling kids. 

What has been your experience practicing at The Yoga Loft?

My experience has been very humbling but encouraging. I’ve appreciated how each teacher offers something a little different so it keeps the practice fresh and promotes learning. Things that I thought would be easier are sometimes much more difficult and sometimes the things I thought would be impossible are within reach once I am either more open-minded or through practice.

Anything else you wish to share about your yoga journey?

I’m so glad I have developed a practice and only have one regret…that I didn’t take the plunge many years back. I find now that I’m quite dependent on it and enjoy trying new yoga studios whenever I’m travelling.
