Julie grew up in Marblehead and has returned to her roots as owner of The Yoga Loft. In 2011, while working the front desk of this studio, she developed her yoga practice. She quickly discovered the whole-body benefits of yoga after years of playing high-intensity sports. Yoga became a mental and physical escape where she found new space to build balance in her life. Some of her first yogic inspirations came from teachers at the studio, including; Jennifer Craig, Ivana Ustariz and Lisa Faia. Over the years her personal practice has evolved, she experimented with different varieties of yoga and is now dedicated to her ashtanga practice under teachers Alicia Orr and Alessandra Miel. Julie earned her 200-hour certification from Marianne Wells Yoga School in Costa Rica and returned to Boston to teach. It was during her teacher training that she was first introduced to Ayurveda; the ancient Indian health science. Ayurveda is the perfect complement to yoga and a lifestyle that she wanted to pursue. Through her own health journey she chose to study deeper and become an Ayurveda Wellness Counselor with Kerala Ayurveda Academy. Julie is excited to bring Ayurveda into the studio and offer counseling. The Yoga Loft has been a transformational part of her life and she looks forward to continue sharing this gift with others.
