Teacher Spotlight : Anne Gilbride

What was your first yoga experience?

I was introduced to yoga while finishing my last year of doctorate program. My doctor recommended yoga to help ease the stress of school and testing.

What made you become a yoga teacher?


The practice of yoga changed my life! I wanted to become a teacher so I could share the practice with others. 

What is your favorite pose and why?

I love to fly any pose on my hands! so i guess that handstand would be my favorite pose... So much right side up can come from turning upside down!

Where do you draw inspiration from for your classes?

That is a tough one! I love Shiva Rhea's approach to yoga practice as riding a wave. Ride your breathe, follow it to the next pose... Let it create a flow that you can ride through your life.

What are the most important elements of your own yoga practice?


The breath… Always the breath.  

What is your favorite season and why?

I love the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love spending time with family and friends.

What do you cherish the most?

My family including our dog (my favorite life teacher) Boso and my health.
