What was your first yoga experience?

My first yoga experience was a Bikram yoga class; I spent the following two days in awe and in recovery! On the third day, I got up and went to another class. I felt a deep curiosity to explore this practice that both inspired me and brought me to my knees. I’ve been exploring ever since… 

What made you become a yoga teacher?

Becoming a yoga teacher feels like a natural extension of practicing yoga. I feel a deep desire to share with others the transformative power of yoga.

What is your favorite pose and why?

It depends on the day, but I really enjoy Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon), This pose requires so many elements to come together (focus, strength, balance), and I need to be completely present in order for that to happen. But on those days when it does happen, I feel so expansive and free. It’s a beautiful reminder that the possibilities are infinite.

Where do you draw inspiration from for your classes?

I draw inspiration from my own experience on my mat, from every yoga teacher that I have ever had and from the practitioners in my classes.

What are the most important elements of your own yoga practice?

Finding the natural rhythm of my own breath and staying connected to it throughout my practice.  

What is your favorite season and why?

I love the long, warm days and nights of summer; they provide the perfect opportunity to just be with and enjoy family, friends and the beauty that surrounds us.
