Teacher Spotlight : Lisa Faia
What was your first yoga experience?
My company started offering Iyengar classes once a week during our lunch hour. Every week I left feeling inches taller and I was hooked!
What made you become a yoga teacher?
I took my first teacher training as a way to deepen my personal practice. I had NO intentions of teaching when I started but by the end of the training I couldn't wait to share my passion.
What is your favorite pose and why?
Uttanasana with shoulders on the wall. It's both supportive and freeing all at the same time.
Where do you draw inspiration from for your classes?
Of course I have lots of teachers that inspire me but I often draw inspiration for class from my students.
What is your favorite season and why?
Autumn is my favorite season for the temperatures, colors, and the perfect horseback riding season.
What do you cherish the most?
My family and friends.
"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
- John Lennon
