As a mother of four, Deanna stepped onto her first yoga mat in 2004, in an attempt to find some peace and quiet. What she found was a space that allowed her to find a sense of peace, both on and off the mat, even in the midst of chaos. She also found a practice that helped her to grow stronger, more flexible and courageous, not just in her poses, but the rest of her life as well.
Deanna believes that she will always be a student of yoga and is deeply grateful for the loving wisdom her teachers have shared with her. She completed her first 200-hr training in Power Yoga in 2012 with Divine Play Yoga, Claire Este-McDonald and Gregor Singleton. She took some time off to complete her Master’s degree in Counseling and work in the mental health field, a discipline that continues to inform her life and her teaching. She is currently completing another 200-hr training in Vinyasa with Larisa Forman and Vito Politano.
Class with Deanna
Deanna likes to combine proper alignment and thoughtful sequencing with a dose of inspiration, creating a safe space for practitioners to explore, de-stress and enjoy their practice. She emphasizes the link of conscious breath and movement, which invites a sense of ease, stability, rhythm and grace into the poses and into our lives. Her hope is that practitioners step off their mat feeling refreshed, balanced, inspired and at peace with all that is.
